Two Years of Marital Bliss

Sweet Sweet and I celebrated 2 years of marital bliss on Monday.  The thought of being married for two years is almost surreal, it’s impossible that we could have been married for two straight years, that seems like such a long time, but in retrospect it’s been all too short.

At times I feel like I’ve been robbed, time isn’t supposed to move this fast when you are with your best friend, when you are with the person who makes you so happy.  I need time to slow down so I can savor every moment, appreciate every smile and register every laugh.

My biggest fault is not taking in all of these moments when they occur, perhaps that’s why I take pictures, it helps me remember the moment.

There is no doubt that I absolutely love my wife.  I am sure that I have said it before and I will say it again.  I love you.

TJ’s Graduation

You want to feel old?  My little brother has graduated from college, the University of Texas to be specific.  I got up at 3:00 a.m. to drive to Austin for this special event, knowing that the trip there wouldn’t be bad, but the trip home would be hellish.  Anyway, let’s begin.  Here’s the stage:

As most of you know, most universities split up the graduations and UT had 3 separate ceremonies.  TJ’s was at 9:00 a.m. (hence the getting up at 3:00 a.m. to arrive some time after 7:30 a.m.).

This is me sporting a red, not burnt orange shirt:

Here’s TJ right after the ceremony.  I failed on getting a picture of him actually accepting the diploma, but you couldn’t have seen anything anyway even with the zoom lens.

Here’s my Dad with his good friends Joe and Margie (Dad and Joe were 2 of a graduating class of 7 I believe):

Zoey in the Laundry Basket

This post will really have no deep meaning, rather it’s to remember the time that Zoey slept in my laundry basket.  I had not quite put away all of my clothes before going to bed and being incredibly lazy, I let the laundry basket lay there over night.  When I woke up the next morning, I was quite surprised to see Zoey simply sleeping in the basket.  Genius.

A few weeks later, Sweet, Sweet and I were sleeping and she had to get up to go to the bathroom.  As she was walking she thought she heard something in my closet and low and behold, Zoey snuck into my closet and was getting her sleep-on in my laundry basket in the closet.

Bowling for Stuff

What’s better than bowling in Ennis?  Bowling in Ennis and eating at Chili’s.  Hell yeah.  This is from Chris’s birthday, which I believe we celebrated a couple of weeks ago.

Me, and yes, I am that “rock star skinny”.

Blue’s Haircut – An Explanation

So we’ve been dealing with a tremendous amount of hair from our sweet and clean Puppy Dog Blue, who we believe to be part Husky, although I have no proof of that. Here’s some evidence of said hair:

You can see here that she was literally losing the hair in complete chunks.

Sweet, Sweet and I promised ourselves that we would have Blue groomed before the summer. Honestly, I think the heat really started to take it’s toll on old Blue (she’s only 2 years young), but this year I think that losing all of that hair as dramatically as she did took an even greater toll on her. I thought she was losing weight and she wasn’t eating as much as she normally does. So, it was time to take her to the vet to get trimmed.

I giggle every time I look at her. I never realized how big her ears are, especially in relation to her head. I’m also amazed as to how skinny she is. She’s eating a lot better and I think the haircut helped how she felt. The heat and humidity was beginning to get at her. Lots of people told me that dogs get embarrassed when they get a haircut, but Blue’s attitude hasn’t changed at all.

I took this last picture in the office as I was blogging. That’s right, she’s constantly by my side. Wherever I go, Blue goes.
