• Sweet Sweet and I had our 3rd wedding anniversary last Wednesday. I got her a set of earrings and she got me a video camera. Good times. This is my first video and I’m pretty sure that it will be nominated for an Oscar.

If that doesn’t work, then go here.

  • I know that I’m a week late, but better than never. Mother’s Day was last weekend and we spent Saturday at my parents’ house and Sunday we have Sweet Sweet’s clan come over to our house. To the pictures:

Sunday I took quite a few less pictures, which is my fault. I’m sure you’re thinking, well did he take pictures of dogs? Well, hell yes.

  • It’s been way too long since I’ve been out to the farm so this Saturday morning I drove out there. My mission: dirt. Sweet Sweet and I had quite a few holes in the backyard, no thanks to Zoey and Blue, that needed to be filled.

  • Some time ago, my buddy Blue got married to a wonderful girl, Cressinda, in California. Last weekend he had his wedding reception, which meant that it was a good opportunity for a mini law school reunion. Big Time, Beano, Duk and myself all attended, and all roomed together at the Hilton.

Here’s the view from our hotel room:

  • We rarely get snow in Tejas, and we rarely get snow in March. It snowed in Terrell for the first time on Friday of Sweet Sweet and my married lives. I’ll go ahead and answer your questions now, yes, look at me, I’m artistic with black and white photos of the snow. The “blue” pictures were taken without a filter, that’s just the way things looked at 7:00 a.m. And finally, yes, Blue was the only one enjoying the weather. I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that I think she’s part Husky.

    Here are the photos.

  • In August of 2007 my Sweet Sweet decided to look into the prospects of becoming Catholic. After 7 months of classes she’s decided to go through with it. So a couple of weekends ago Sweet Sweet had the opportunity to meet the Dallas Diocese Bishop.

    Here’s the downtown Dallas cathedral.

Some photos inside of the church.

    Sweet Sweet looking quite happy.

  • Housecleaning:

    1. Sweet Sweet’s surgery was/is a success. So far, knock on wood, there have been no issues. The surgery was on a Monday. The doctor said that it was a little worse than anticipated, but it was a success. She woke up with very little pain, just some nausea, which is apparently what happens to Sweet Sweet whenever she gets anesthesia. She was groggy almost the entire day and considering my last sleep-over in the hospital, I decided to go home and get a good night’s sleep. I was able to bring her home on Tuesday, before lunch and I stayed with her the rest of the day.

Thus far, she’s pretty much back to normal and she can start working out, which is what she’s wanted to do for quite some time.

Most importantly, she is pain free. For those of you who can’t wait to see her scar, here you go:

One other note, Sweet Sweet is not trying to twist her body, she was actually that crooked for the better part of 4 months.

    2. Some time, the week after Sweet Sweet returned to work (she only took off one week because she loves her job), I came home and noticed that Zoey, was cowering under the kitchen table and thought that I saw something red on her nose. I asked Sweet Sweet if she noticed that red spot on her nose (she was cooking dinner) and she said no. I called Zoey over to me and noticed that she had a huge gash on the left side of her eye and her face was fairly jacked-up. After a few, “Oh, my!”‘s I take Zoey to the vet and they keep her overnight.

When I was at home for lunch, she was fine. I’m thinking that she ran into something or perhaps stepped on a stick (we tend to have a lot of sticks in the yard), it popped up and hit her in the eye.

Despite our worries, Zoey was fine and in good spirits the next day when I picked her up. Although these photos are from the next day, you can still see how red her eye was. It’s actually pretty amazing because when I brought her to the vet, it almost looked like her eye was going to fall out of the socket. The next day, she looked good. She is a fast healer.

And just for good measure, here are the dogs, enjoying their morning sleep as Sweet Sweet and I get ready for work.

  • Send good thoughts, prayers and mojo towards Miranda tomorrow morning.  She’s having back surgery to correct a herniated disc, which we hope will get her back to normal.  Hopefully we’ll be home tomorrow night.

I’ll have more later in the week.
